Creating a Safe Environment

October 14, 2012

Dear Children’s Liturgy Parents:

I have attended the “Called to Protect” Workshop held October 13th at St. Agnes Parish.  This is a workshop I would highly recommend to all parents.

In efforts to create a safer environment for our children, the Catholic Archdiocese of Edmonton has advised that we implement a policy to have two or more adults in our classroom during children’s Liturgy each Sunday.  We are requesting that parents assist each Sunday.  Please advise me if certain Sundays are better for you so I can schedule a parent helper for each week.  With enough helpers, you will be asked one Sunday every two months.  You are asked to find a replacement if you are not able to attend your scheduled Sunday.  On Sundays where only one adult is available, we will be cancelling Children’s Liturgy.  The Bible states that even Jesus sent out his disciples two by two.

If you have any questions, please contact either the Parish Office at 780-434-0611 or myself at 780-434-1255
