1st Sunday in Advent, Year B
In our reading, the prophet Isaiah talks about God as our Creator, redeemer, and Savior. He gave us a free will to do as we want and sometimes we do not do as God wants and we turn away from him. God has done more for us than anyone else, and especially for those who trust in him. Still, we continue to sin and do what is wrong because we are weak.
In our gospel, Jesus says "Always be ready! Stay awake! You do not know when the special time will come." Jesus is talking about the end of the world. We do not know when Jesus will come again so we should always be ready (in our hearts). Advent is a great time to check our lives to make sure we are thinking about serving Jesus. We can make peace, not war. Forgive your family or friends who have hurt you.
Hope candle this week!
