6th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year B
Please join us for our Children Led Mass at St. Agnes!
In our reading, there are laws where people who have leprosy must be brought to a priest who tells them they are unclean. The lepers must wear torn clothes and nothing on their heads. They have to live outside the camp and away from other people. They must shout “unclean, unclean” so others know. They are unclean as long as they have the disease.
In our gospel, a man with leprosy came to Jesus to be healed. He knelt in front of Jesus and said “If you want to, you can cure me.” Jesus wanted to heal the man and warned him not to tell anyone but to show himself to the priest and to make an offering because he was cured. Instead, the man went away and told everyone what happened. Everyone wanted to see Jesus and be cured.
