Fourth Sunday of Easter, Year C
Today is Good Shepherd Sunday! Please join us for our Children Led Mass at St. Agnes at 9:00 with Fr. Paul Moret!
In our reading, Paul and Barnabas went to Antioch. They went to the synagogue, listened to the readings from the law of Moses and the writings of the prophets, and spoke to the people about God. Many of the Jews believed them and became followers. The next Sabbath, almost everyone in the city came to the synagogue to hear Paul preach. When the Jews saw all the people there they became jealous. They told the people not to listen to Paul because he was wrong. Paul and Barnabas then went to preach to the people of other nations (Gentiles) as God wanted them to. The Gentiles heard this and were filled with joy.
In our Gospel, we hear about Jesus who is the Good Shepherd. The sheep (us) listen to his voice and follow him. All those who have been baptized will live forever. God the Father has sent Jesus to look after us. Jesus and His Father are one God. This is one of my favourite images of Jesus. He is kind, caring, and protective of us, his flock. Baaaaa!
