Mary, Mother of God, Year A
In our reading, God gave his priests a blessing to give to the people. When they bless others in God’s name, God will bless the people himself.
May the blessings of the Lord be upon you, we bless you in the name of the Lord. May the blessings of the Lord be upon you. We bless you in the name of the Lord.
In our Gospel, the shepherds went to Bethlehem and saw the baby lying in the manger. When they saw the child, they repeated what the angel had said about him. Everyone who heard their story was amazed. Mary thought about all these things and kept them in her heart. The shepherds went back to their fields, thanking and praising God for all that they had seen. After 8 days, the baby was circumcised and he was given the name, Jesus as the angel Gabriel had told Mary.
